The Associate Director will have the following Responsibilities:
Develop, transfer, qualify and validate analytical assays to support the release and characterization of cell therapy products in early and late phase, with a focus on characterization of lentiviral/retroviral vectors.
Contribute to building the companies analytical sciences capabilities for process and product characterization while driving the development of the lead cell therapy product in pipeline.
Lead a team within Analytical Development but work cross-functionally and collaboratively with Manufacturing, Process Development, Regulatory, and Quality.
Develop analytical tools for the characterization of viral vectors and cell therapy products to support the clinical pipeline.
This is a leadership position although would not have direct reports on day one, so a primary responsibility is team building.
The Ideal Candidate will have the following skill set:
Ph.D. Required in a related field - molecular biology, immunology, biochemistry, cell biology, or virology
4+ years prior experience in retroviral/lentiviral vector analytical development.
Expertise in several of the following product characterization methods - cell-based potency assays, titration assays, PCR/qPCR, sequencing, ELISA, MSD.
Previous experience in leading analytical activities (Method development/transfer/qualification/validation) at CDMOs or other contract organizations.
Prior leadership experience or strong leadership traits required
