Associate Scientist, Molecular Immunology (Cell Therapy Process Development)

Position Summary
I am partnered with a leading biotech company seeking a highly motivated Associate Scientist with the goal of developing a neoantigen specific T cell product to be used in adoptive T cell therapy. As part of a multi-disciplinary team, you will work closely with the departments of Process Development, T Cell Immunology, Cancer Immunology, Bioinformatics, and Tech Ops to develop and assess the efficacy of this approach. This position will be responsible for taking the preclinical workflow of the culturing platforms for our T cell therapies and adapting it to a large scale, closed-culturing system. This position reports to Associate Director, Molecular Immunology.
Job responsibilities include:
- Culturing of human T cells
- Development of procedures for large-scale, closed-system T cell culture
- Genetic manipulation of immune cell cultures
- Assessment of specificity and functionality of human T cells by multicolor flow cytometry
- Analysis of multicolor flow cytometry data
- Presenting results to other scientific teams and stakeholders
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities
- BS or MS or PhD in Immunology, Biotechnology or related field with 2-5 years of industry experience in immunotherapy or cell therapy.
- A strong interest in T cell biology and cancer immunotherapy
- Primary immune cell culture experience and genetic manipulation of cell cultures
- Demonstrated experience with flow cytometry and other immune related assays
- Experience with process development and/or GMP manufacturing of cell therapies strongly preferred
- Understanding of cell therapy process development preferred
- Ability to work independently, as well as in a highly collaborative environment to meet project goals
- Enjoys solving challenging scientific questions in a fast-paced environment
- Independent, flexible, self-motivated, and the ability to work well with others
