A dynamic contract development and manufacturing organization that has been successful in completing development of significant pharmaceuticals and medical devices is looking for a highly motivated, self-directing Business Development Manager to join their organization and oversee their West Coast territory. As the Business Development Manager, you will be responsible for prospecting new clients, generating leads, and managing incoming territory leads while working closely with the Business Development Team to support the achievement of quarterly and long-term goals. This position is currently remote but will consist of 25% travel in the future.
Responsibilities:
- Conduct market research to locate potential sales opportunities and develop plans/strategies in order to identify new prospective clients
- Developing strategies that will best represent the company's ability to increase market position and add value to financial performance by working closely with the business development team and marketing team
- Providing customer-facing assistance at trade shows and other business development events
- Traveling to prospective client and company sites and presenting the company's capabilities - alternatively, setting up virtual meetings and introductory calls
Qualifications:
- 5-7 years' experience working in a sales environment
- CDMO sales experience, experience with cGMP manufacturing and a knowledge of analytical testing is a plus
- Demonstrated success in sales, territory management and customer analysis
- Strong project management competencies to effectively manage multiple projects against timelines
- Results oriented; works effectively under pressure, ability to handle multiple tasks with changing priorities and interruptions
- Experience managing relationships with various client stakeholders including scientist and C -Suite leaders to position the company's service offerings and capabilities
