Title: Clinical Development Director

In this position you will be largely responsible for the Respiratory department of the Global Clinical Team. You will be working for one of the largest names within the world Pharma, in this full time permanent position. As Clinical Development Director you will need to work with internal teams and external partners to manage project timelines, budgets and strategy.
This specific Clinical team and Department are one of the top funded globally.
Your responsibilities
- Develop strategies and lead continuous improvement initiatives within Clinical Development, identifying and implementing innovative ways and processes for enhancing compliance and quality.
- Strategic Leadership: Integrating scientific rationale, regulatory requirements, product development plan and commercial goals to optimize clinical study designs aligned with the Clinical Development Plan
- Playing an active role in the technical and leadership development of Clinical Sciences staff via coaching and mentoring and potential direct line management
- Developing and maintaining relationships with program counterparts in Commercial, Research, Regulatory, Clinical Operations and Statistics.
- Support the organization to maintain a continuous improvement culture.
- Serve as an internal resource for innovative thinking relating to new trends and activities to support compliance and quality
Requirements
- MD Degree is REQUIRED
- Extensive experience in Respiratory clinical drug development. Preferably having come immediately from a Respiratory focused project, although prior experience will also be sufficient.
- Sound knowledge and understanding of Pharmaceutical, Biotech, and CRO environments.
- Comprehensive understanding of the clinical development of pharmaceutical products.
- Experience of successful influencing cross functionally and driving cultural change of the organization
- Proven track record of being able to lead in a Matrix organisation. The ability to work in Cross- Functional teams is a key requirement to this position.
- Thorough understanding of clinical research methodology and biostatistics principles, to facilitate innovative and efficient clinical trial design, and clinical development plans with clear data-driven decision rules
- Excellent interpersonal skills with ability to lead, engage and negotiate
- Strong organizational, planning, and business skills
- Strong knowledge in Good Clinical Practice (GCP) guidelines and other relevant clinical trial regulations
