OUR REQUIREMENTS
Ph.D. or MD in biology with a strong background in oncology/immuno-oncology, and longstanding experience with a focus on translational research in an industry/biotech setting with clinical-stage assets with a strong publications record
+5 years in a pharmaceutical company research environment and a PhD in biochemistry, biology, biomedicine or related field.
Previous leadership roles as line manager or experienced project leader/coordinator in a pharma/biotech setting and experience with building, motivating and setting direction for high-performing teams.
Experience with antibody / protein-based drug discovery; a track record of successful preclinical drug candidate delivery is preferred
A track record of developing and implementing translational plans to support programs from project start through to the clinic
Experience providing oversight into preparation of technical reports and nonclinical sections of documents to support IND filings and/or other regulatory documents associated with moving candidates from nonclinical to clinical environment
Qualified candidates should be adept at independently designing, executing and interpreting experiments
Experience developing mechanism-based preclinical and clinical biomarker and pharmacodynamic assays including experimental design, data acquisition and analysis
Demonstrated ability to explore mechanisms of action, combination therapy strategies, and to elucidate biomarkers that are predictive of therapeutic response
Deep understanding of translational pharmacology - Understanding mechanisms of T cell, macrophage and NK cell mediated anti-tumor immunity is required
Ability to analyze and solve problems, developing creative solutions and meeting project objectives
The ability to work effectively as part of a team, having excellent written and oral communication skills, and being skilled at presenting research at intra- and inter-departmental meetings, as well as at conferences and meetings with external collaborators is essential
Comfortable working in a fast-paced highly matrixed environment and able to operate effectively within an entrepreneurial and science-driven company environment
Provide strategic and tactical input and solutions regarding translational needs ranging from individual projects to large collaborations with external vendors and academics
Strong leadership skills and a high degree of independence. Experience directing and mentoring PhD level direct reports
Possess the ability to appropriately challenge status quo, ensuring decisions and assumptions are based on best available information
Your role will be to:

Contribute to strategic planning and drive strategic initiatives within the area of translational research to strengthen the interface between early research and clinical development.
Promote and nurture a culture of trust, helpfulness and collaboration across the teams within the In Vivo Biology & Safety Department and between departments in Skin Research.
Keep your team professionally on top of trends and state-of-the-art technologies within biomarker analysis.
Be involved in strategic discussions in the In Vivo Biology and Safety Department and Skin Research extended leadership teams.
