Role:
The primary responsibility is developing consulting business in Japan from both market- facing and capability perspectives, working closely with the APAC leadership team in Singapore. The key requirement will be to drive business development efforts working closely with APAC Sales Team in Japan and with other APAC consulting organizations. The day-to-day roles are selling and delivering consulting projects in the areas of strategy, value-added insights and launch excellence in Japan for both local and MNC clients, and leading the growth of a local consulting team, including identifying candidates, interviewing, and developing appropriate candidates. In addition, he/she will collaborate closely with the rest of the APAC team on selling and delivering regional and global engagements.
Responsibilities:
Revenue/Pipeline:
o Meet or exceed revenue targets, working with the larger APAC and Global teams.
o Lead business and proposal development for Japan and ensure high-quality deliverables.
o Understand growing consulting offerings and introduce them to Japanese clients, working closely with the Sales Teams in Japan.
o Maintain a pipeline of opportunities for domestic and international markets for MNCs and Japanese corporations of new and follow-on project opportunities.
Delivery:
o Primary owner of all client engagements in or for Japan
o Lead teams in framing, development, and delivery of projects to global standards that exceed client expectations.
o Achieves high levels of efficiency and effectiveness in managing all aspects of client delivery.
o Responsible for quality assurance on all deliverables.
Building the team
o Lead the process and take responsibility for recruiting consultants and building a high-performance team
o Build a network of domain experts in Japan to augment network
Essentials:
Extensive knowledge of life sciences, Japan, and consulting, and demonstrated experience in:
o Leading a practice area/consulting practice for a reputed consulting firm in Japan in life sciences
o Understanding Japan's health care policy that affects pharma company strategy, including pricing, market access, clinical and registration regulation etc.
o Building and maintaining trusted relationships with CXO levels and decision-makers at domestic and MNC pharma companies
o Contributing effectively and adding value as a leadership team member of APAC and global consulting practices
Other Requirements:
o At least 10-12 years of experience in the life sciences consulting industry
o In depth and long-standing relationships with client companies, especially at a senior level.
o Excellent communication skills.
o Proven business development and practice-building capabilities
o Comfortable working in an entrepreneurial and multi-cultural environment
