Role: Senior Research Associate
Location: SF Bay Area
Length: Contract to hire FTE
Client: My client is a global biotech company with a focus is developing regenerative medicine to treat rare diseases caused by neurological disabilities. In fact, they were able to introduce a product into clinical development to help combat chronic motor impairment caused from traumatic brain injury and ischemic stroke.
Key Responsibilities:
- Handle a variety of routine and non-routine research assignments and experiments, assisting with lab and vivarium maintenance responsibilities
- Conduct tissue analysis using wet lab technologies and immunohistochemistry
- Experience with rodent survival surgeries dosing routes (IV, Sub Q, IP)
- Have a good understanding of basic statistical analysis concepts
- Proficient in Excel - collecting, organizing, and graphing large data sets using Image J, graph pad prism, and scripting using R
- Consistently stay up to date with scientific literature searches in order to maintain most up to date research, techniques, and technologies
- Work with different team members across the organization in order to deliver projects and meet deadlines
Qualifications:
- Master's degree in neuroscience, molecular biology, or related fields preferred. Bachelor's degree in a related field with at equivalent experience is acceptable
- Minimum of 3 years of relevant industry or academic lab experience
- Immunohistochemistry (ICH) and microscopy experience is REQUIRED
- Expertise on several techniques, such as cell cultures, RNA isolations, and protein expression analysis
- Strong organizational, interpersonal, and multi-tasking skills
