The EPM Scientific Job Confidence Index 2020 is a new annual report that aims to measures confidence in the life sciences labour market in Europe. The index reports on professionalsโ€™ confidence in the economy, getting or holding a job, their compensation and bonus, and whether the normal push-and-pull factors in employment have changed.

  • 1 in 5 respondents (42%) feel positive or very positive about the current job market.

  • Locked in:
  • 59% are confident they will keep their jobs over the next six months.

  • Staying put:
  • Half of respondents (49%) are likely to stay with their current employer.

  • Feeling good:
  • Half of respondents (52%) are satisfied with their current job.

  • Money holds less currency:
  • The majority would move jobs to advance their career (66%) or take on a new challenge (57%) rather than pursue a higher salary (49%).
