Microbiologist

A mid-size pharma company is seeking a skilled and experienced Microbiologist with expertise in pharmaceutical microbiology, particularly in compliance with USP (United States Pharmacopeia) standards. The ideal candidate will have a solid understanding of Endotoxin, Total Organic Carbon (TOC), bioburden testing, and other relevant microbiological techniques. As a Microbiologist, you will contribute to ensuring the safety, efficacy, and quality of our pharmaceutical products through rigorous microbiological testing and analysis.
The Microbiologist will have the following responsibilities...
- Perform routine and non-routine microbiological testing of raw materials, in-process samples, finished products, and environmental samples according to USP guidelines.
- Conduct Endotoxin testing using LAL (Limulus Amebocyte Lysate) assay and interpret results.
- Perform Total Organic Carbon (TOC) testing on water systems and pharmaceutical products.
- Execute bioburden testing and microbial identifications using appropriate techniques and instruments.
- Ensure compliance with current Good Manufacturing Practices (cGMP) and other regulatory requirements.
- Document and report test results accurately and in a timely manner.
- Participate in method validation, method transfers, and troubleshooting activities.
- Maintain laboratory equipment, perform calibrations, and troubleshoot instrumentation issues.
The Microbiologist should meet the following qualifications...
- Bachelor's degree in Microbiology, Biology, or a related scientific field. Master's degree preferred.
- Minimum of 2 years of hands-on experience in a pharmaceutical microbiology laboratory.
- Familiarity with aseptic techniques and environmental monitoring in a sterile manufacturing environment.
- Proficiency in using microbiological laboratory equipment and computerized systems for data analysis and documentation.
- Excellent attention to detail, analytical skills, and problem-solving abilities.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
