Role: Associate Finance Director, Early Discovery

Responsibilities
- One direct report and a full team of 11 staff within the Project Co-ordination and Project Management function
- Build relationships throughout the Early Discovery organisation across operational departments to gain insight
- Coordinate with the project coordination team to correctly estimate forecast revenue on projects, slippage level, and opportunities to mitigate downsides
- As part of the month end process, provide timely and accurate revenue analysis to inform manual journals
- Drive cross functional projects, process improvements, and improve value creation
- Perform analyses including year-to-year comparisons
- Drive the execution of the strategic planning and forecasting process.
- Develop financial reports for forecasting, trending and results analysis on revenue, operating costs, headcount, and capital expenditure
- Ensure revenue recognition in compliance with accounting and contractual guidelines
- Develop and oversee the implementation of training programs, including orientation, and, as appropriate, education to non-finance staff
- Support Director of Finance with ad hoc analysis and take an active role in other projects as required
Experience
- Accounting qualification e.g. CIMA, ACCA, ACA (or equivalent)
- Over 8-10 years post qualification experience
- Business partnering experience
- Experience in the collation/interpretation of financial and other information
- Experience in the preparation of financial reports and information
- Working with multiple entities and foreign currencies
- Experience in a Contract Research Organisation.
- Experience with SOX controls & knowledge of SAP and BPC (is an advantage)
- Preparation of financial analysis to support investment business cases
- Ability to operate an ERP system in order to extract relevant information,
- Able to perform logical analysis of financial and other information from multiple sources to prepare reports of past/current performance and forecasts of future performance
