Position: Head of Pricing and Contracting

Role Summary:
We are seeking a dynamic and experienced Head of Pricing and Contracting to join our team. This strategic role is responsible for leading our pricing and contracting strategies across all product lines. The successful candidate will play a pivotal role in ensuring that our therapies are accessible to patients while maintaining organizational profitability and compliance with regulatory standards. Reporting directly to the Vice President of Market Access, the Head of Pricing and Contracting will collaborate closely with cross-functional teams, including Sales, Marketing, Finance, Legal, and Regulatory Affairs, to optimize pricing models and contract negotiations.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and implement innovative pricing strategies and programs to enhance patient access and maximize product value.
- Lead the negotiation of pricing and contracting terms with payers, including commercial insurers, government entities, and pharmacy benefit managers (PBMs).
- Collaborate with Market Access and Sales teams to align pricing strategies with market access plans and sales objectives.
- Analyze market trends, competitor pricing, and reimbursement landscapes to inform strategic decision-making.
- Ensure compliance with all federal, state, and industry regulations regarding pricing and contracting.
- Work closely with the Legal and Compliance teams to navigate contractual agreements and mitigate risk.
- Foster relationships with key stakeholders and decision-makers within the healthcare and payer communities.
- Provide leadership and mentorship to the Pricing and Contracting team, setting goals, and evaluating performance.
- Represent the organization at industry conferences, forums, and negotiations, advocating for policies and practices that enhance access to our therapies.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Business, Economics, Health Policy, or related field; an advanced degree (MBA, MPH, JD) is preferred.
- Minimum of 10 years of experience in pricing, contracting, or market access within the biopharmaceutical industry.
- Demonstrated success in negotiating contracts and developing pricing strategies in the biopharmaceutical sector.
- Comprehensive understanding of the US healthcare and payer landscape, including regulatory and reimbursement challenges.
- Strong analytical skills and the ability to translate complex data into actionable strategies.
- Excellent leadership, communication, and negotiation skills.
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
