Job Title: MSL Field Director - Oncology

Position Overview: The MSL Field Director for Oncology will play a pivotal role in leading and managing a team of Medical Science Liaisons (MSLs) focused on providing scientific expertise and support to healthcare professionals (HCPs) and internal stakeholders. This individual will be responsible for strategically aligning the MSL team's activities with the company's goals and objectives, ensuring effective communication of scientific data, and fostering collaborative relationships within the oncology community.
Key Responsibilities:
- Team Leadership and Management:
- Lead, mentor, and develop a team of MSLs focused on oncology therapeutic areas.
- Provide guidance and direction to ensure the team's activities are aligned with corporate strategies and objectives.
- Conduct regular performance evaluations and implement training programs to enhance the team's effectiveness.
- Strategic Planning and Execution:
- Develop and execute strategic plans for engaging with key opinion leaders (KOLs), investigators, and other external stakeholders within the oncology community.
- Collaborate cross-functionally with Medical Affairs, Clinical Development, Marketing, and other departments to drive initiatives and support product development strategies.
- Identify opportunities for scientific exchange and collaboration to advance scientific understanding and support the company's portfolio.
- Scientific Expertise and Communication:
- Serve as a subject matter expert in oncology, providing scientific support and education to internal and external stakeholders.
- Deliver presentations, medical education programs, and scientific materials to healthcare professionals, investigators, and other key stakeholders.
- Stay abreast of the latest developments in oncology research, treatment guidelines, and competitive landscape to inform decision-making and communication strategies.
- Relationship Building and Advocacy:
- Cultivate and maintain strong relationships with key opinion leaders, academic institutions, and professional organizations in the oncology field.
- Act as a liaison between the company and external stakeholders, representing the organization at scientific conferences, advisory boards, and other relevant forums.
- Advocate for the company's products and therapeutic areas, while also gathering insights and feedback to inform internal stakeholders.
Qualifications:
- Advanced degree (MD, PhD, PharmD, or equivalent) in a scientific or healthcare-related field.
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in medical affairs, clinical development, or related roles within the pharmaceutical or biotechnology industry, with a focus on oncology.
- Experience of 5 years within Oncology or Hematology.
- Strong leadership and managerial skills, with experience leading high-performing teams.
- Excellent communication and presentation abilities, with the ability to effectively convey scientific information to diverse audiences.
- Proven track record of building and maintaining relationships with key opinion leaders and other stakeholders in the oncology community.
- Deep understanding of oncology therapeutic areas, including disease mechanisms, treatment modalities, and emerging trends.
- Ability to travel as needed to support field-based activities and attend scientific conferences.
Location: This position is Remote but needs to be located on the East Coast and may require travel within the assigned territory and occasionally nationally or internationally.
